The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials — International
APCO International is the world's largest organization dedicated to public safety communications. APCO is a member-driven association of communications professionals that provides leadership, influences public safety communications decisions of government and industry, promotes professional development, and fosters the development and use of technology for the benefit of the public.
Federal Emergency Management Agency
The primary mission of FEMA is to reduce the loss of life and property and protect the Nation from all hazards, including natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters. FEMA achieves its mission by leading and supporting the Nation in a risk-based, comprehensive emergency-management system of preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation.
National Emergency Number Association
NENA's mission is to foster the technological advancement, availability, and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system (9-1-1). In carrying out its mission, NENA promotes research, planning, training, and education. The protection of human life, the preservation of property, and the maintenance of general community security are among NENA's objectives.
